The pavilion derived from the manipulations of four ring elements. These rings, in turn, create four ribbon surfaces which then reveal the cantilevered enclosure of the pavilion. the ground plane has been excavated in order to create a descent into the "interior" of the structure, heightening the sense of enclosure. The material system is a series of ribbons which undulate and orbit around the interior and exterior of the pavilion. The proposed site was Phoenix Park in Downtown Lexington, KY, as seen in the final montage.
