In late Summer of 2007 I was commissioned to provide a draft for the front porch of the Barton residence in Lexington, KY. I was working as a carpenter at the time so this project allowed me to experience the entire building process from conception and design through construction and completion.

It was an entirely different feeling of accomplishment from what I had encountered before. As a carpenter it is a completely satisfying experience to finish a project, but in the same hand I was building the ideas and vision of someone else.

Being able to create this concept for the Barton's front porch and see it through as a completed project gave me the opportunity to witness first-hand what it feels like to see an idea come to fruition.
